How to Store Cheese in Fridge

Keeping your cheese fresh for a long time might be a challenge for you. You may not know the right ways to store it in the fridge. Today I will share my secrets about keeping cheese in the fridge and eating it anytime and having fun. Let’s find out how to store cheese in fridge!

3 Things to Keep in Mind

Keeping cheese fresh and refrigerate alight easier than most people think. What you need to have are three things.

40-45 Degree is Optimum

You need to have the right temperature, which 40 to 45 degrees. It is perfect for it. You need to have the proper humidity, and you need to have access to oxygen.

Avoid Using Plastic Wraps

Most people do this thing. When they get home, they take the cheese, and they immediately wrap it in plastic wrap. It’s not recommended at all. Because the cheese needs access to oxygen to breathe, and it requires the humidity to stay moist.

Use a Storage Container

Putting in plastic wrap starts to develop an ammonia smell over time. Because nearly you’ve killed the cheese by doing stuff by putting in the plastic wrap. You can put the cheese in a storage container that keeps the right moisture.

In this case, I have something called the cheese saver. The cheese saver is a four-sided lock container. It keeps an airtight seal and has a unique humidor system inside using water to a natural sea sponge.

I put blue cheese in a little wax paper to separate it from the other cheese. I took a Swiss cheese about a half-pound, a three-year-old Gouda, and I put all of this cheese and the cheese saver in a case. You can store over three pounds of cheese in it. Put the lid back on. And then put the cheese in the refrigerator.

I can store the cheese in the refrigerator keeping it fresh for months. When we take it out, we can share it with friends; we can have it with a glass of wine. But the important thing that it’s kept at the right temperature the right humidity.
